Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide services in an elementary school setting in Detroit, MI. The role focuses on supporting students from kindergarten through 6th grade who require OT evaluations and ongoing specialized services.
Responsibilities: Conduct OT evaluations for students identified as needing services
Provide direct therapeutic interventions to improve students functional abilities
Collaborate with school staff, parents, and administrators to develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
Split time between Daly Elementary and Thorne Elementary, serving 2 identified students at Daly Elementary with potential additional caseload
Qualifications: Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in school-based settings
Familiarity with evaluating and treating children in grades K-6
Strong understanding of school-based therapy regulations and IEP processes
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during limited weekly hours
Excellent communication skills to interact with educators, parents, and other professionals
Location and Schedule: Position based in Detroit, MI
Contract assignment for the current school year (CSY)
Approximately to 1 day per week, with hours potentially split across two elementary schools
